Founder - Late Pastor Cherian Kothakery
|
Background: Rev. Cherian Kothakeri was born on May 28 , 1929 as the firstborn to Mr. M. C. Kurian and Mrs. Annamma Kurian at Kottayam, Kerala, India. He committed his life to Christ in May 1949 during a Sunday morning service and took water baptism in 1950. Later he was blessed with the gift of Holy Spirit and submitted his life for God’s ministry. He learned the Word of God from the Hebron Bible School, Kumbanad, Kerala and started his ministry.
Rev. Cherian served the Lord and did God’s ministry in various ways. He has ministered as pastor in 14 churches in Kerala and 3 churches in the United States. Lastly, he was serving as the Reverend of Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A.
Rev. Cherian was an excellent Bible scholar and teacher. While he was in Kerala, India, he has taught at 4 leading Bible schools such as the Shalom Bible School, Kottayam, Eben-Ezer Bible School, Thalayolapparambu, Agape Bible School, Perumbavur and the New India Church Bible School, Chingavanam.
In May 1950, he was baptized and received gift of Holy Spirit.
He has studied at Kumbanad Bible College in Kerala, India under the
guidance of Late. Pastor K.E. Abraham, Pastor P.M. Philip, Pastor
T.G. Oommen and other blessed leaders of the Indian Pentecostal
Church.
Pastor Cherian Kothakery has excelled himself in various branches of
Christian Literature. He has published a variety of Christian books,
poems, novels, short stories, Biblical interpretations and
biographies. He is continually writing in newspapers such as
Malayalam Manorama, Malayalam Pathram, Kerala Express, Good News
etc. in India and United States. He has served as a teacher of the
Bible in Four Bible colleges in India. He has written numerous
articles and 15 books such as "Velicham Kanda Bootham",
"Abadhangal", "Opening the Book of Revelation" etc.

Apart from publishing of books, Rev. Cherian had been regularly writing Biblical articles in leading Pentecostal magazines. His articles appeared in leading Christian publications and newspapers such as Good News, Suvartha, Malayala Manorama, Malayalam Pathram and Kerala Express.
In addition, Rev. Cherian was a very good musician and artist as well. He loved to play flute and other musical instruments. He also excelled in oil-based painting and often used bible and nature as themes in his paintings.
Rev. Cherian was an excellent organizer and coordinator. He was the convener of the 22nd Pentecostal Conference of North American Keralites (PCNAK) held at Virginia Beach in July, 2004. He has received the 24th P.C.N.A.K. Award of Appreciation, 25th PCNAK Award for National Convenor at Virginia beach, Va and Appreciation of Pentecostal Youth Fellowship, New York and New Jersey.

Background: Pastor Sam Cherian Samuels was born on February 1, 1959 as the firstborn to Rev. Cherian Kothakeri and Mrs. Saramma Cherian in Kottayam, Kerala, India. Pastor Samuels committed his life to Christ in 1964. He was baptized in 1972 by Pastor P. M. Philip, and in 1983, he received the Holy Spirit.
He was educated through the Word of God and graduated from Liberty University in Charlottesville, VA in 2005. He was very active in youth fellowship in India along with participating in church leadership. He received more leadership opportunities in America by being the Local treasurer for the 2004 Pentecostal Conference of North American Keralites, and he served in various leadership positions at Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Virginia.
He received ordination from World Christian Ministries and also from TPC through Pastor V. M. Chacko Kolladu, Kerala, India; Pastor Cherian Kothakeri; and Pastor P. C. Skaria. The Lord has appointed Pastor Samuels to serve as the leader of TPC by receiving a strong anointing from the Holy Spirit. At 93 years old, Pastor P.C. Skaria gave his blessing to Pastor Samuels on December 2, 2007 during the Sunday worship service. During this memorable moment, Pastor P.C. Skaria announced that his ministry has come to an end and peacefully went to be with the Lord the next day. At present, Pastor Samuels serves the Lord with zeal and renewed spiritual vigor as the Pastor of Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Virginia.
